Greater Chicago Metro Pediatric Preceptor 

About the position: 

At AMOpportunities (AMO) we partner with schools and students in need of clinical rotations domestically and around the world for medical, PA and nursing rotations.  

As an AMO preceptor, you will be able to host the types of students that best fit your practice for when you are available. Preceptors are expected to facilitate a program that may include observation, patient interaction, didactic learning, case presentations, and/or research. Your program will be designed to fit the needs and availability of your practice. AMO handles all marketing, application collection, medical trainee support, and administrative work so that you can focus on the most important part, teaching! This is a contracted position; preceptors are paid a stipend upon a medical trainee’s successful completion of their program. 

Essential Functions:  

  • Must be able to host a minimum of 36 hours/per week 

  • Ensure all observation or hands-on activities involving patients are supervised by the physician, mid-level, or nurse 

  • Timely responsiveness of requests and required school documents (affiliations, evaluations, forms etc.) 

  • Willing to write a Letter of Recommendation (LoR) based on merit 

  • Adhere to AMO & AMO’s school partners standards of professionalism as outlined in our affiliation agreement 

 
Skills/Experience:  

  • Hold a current, active, Medical, PA or APRN license in the U.S. 

  • For Physicians - Have current Board Certification in Pediatrics.  

  • APRNs should also be certified as a PNP 

  • For PA/APRN – be practicing in Pediatrics for 2+ years 

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with others 

  • Prior clinical education experience preferred, but not required
